The West Coast Waterfront (under the ILWU-PMA collective bargaining agreements) is an "alcohol and drug-free workplace." To achieve this, one component of the industry policy is training. Supervisors (e.g., superintendents, walking bosses, management personnel) and other responsible people (e.g., supercargos/chief supervisor, Union business agents, safety personnel, JAPC members, and any other agreed to by the Joint Coast Labor Relations Committee) shall be trained to address and recognize prohibited alcohol/drug use by workers.
